“Take the SENG parenting course! Learn you are not alone! Learn to block out all the unhelpful advice/judgement from friends/family/teachers who haven’t raised gifted kids. Learn practical skills instead of assuming intuition will be sufficient. I give this class the highest possible recommendation. I'm very grateful to Stephanie and Marissa for this excellent class.” “I did not understand all the opportunities we had to be better parents to a gifted child until this [SENG] class. I can now better relate to my son and accept his amazing differences.” |
"I'm so grateful to have discovered this SENG Model Parent Group! As a busy parent, I seldom find the time to read anymore. This workshop was the perfect way to help me dive-in. I not only learned strategies to help my gifted and 2E children, but I also gained comfort in the camaraderie of fellow gifted parents. These workshop sessions unexpectedly served as a parent counseling session of sorts for myself. It was incredibly helpful to be able to share stories of parenting wins and fails, and to gain insightful tips that have worked for others. I've gleaned many new tools in my parenting tool belt, while also cutting myself some slack for not being a perfect parent. Stephanie is a gifted, gracious, and supportive facilitator. Committing to this workshop was one of the best parenting choices I've made for my family." |
The Gifted Education Parent Council (GEPC) of Gilbert Public Schools strives to empower parents through education. We support them in their mission by providing parent workshops and by facilitating SENG Model Parent Groups.
"Thank you so much for stepping in and helping the GEPC! It has been invaluable for you to train our group on advocating and building bridges, teaching the Gifted 101, training the new school representatives, etc. Thank you for having and joining meetings with individuals at the district level. I feel like we are making progress." ~Kathy Thorpe, Executive Committee, GEPC |
